MeetMyRedOnRed

...Occasion...
A creative day at uni

...Situation...
Dressing to compliment my new hair cut & colour

...Black & White check wool scarf - Oxfam *latest buy*...
...White waterfall collar shirt with black polkadots - Vintage...
...Long red coat - Vintage, Oldham St, Manchester *perfect for autumn* [originally from Eastex]...
...Wet look jeans - River Island...
...Ankle boots - New Look Limited Editions...

Some would never dye their hair a bold shade because they claim they would have to alter their whole wardrobe. Well I say embrace the colour! Out with the old & in with the bold! Your wardrobe hasn't got to alter, but if your concerned about the clashing you just might have to alter your styling around it until you get used to what looks you prefer! Red is my favourite [bet you would have never guessed!] so I paired my new sleek fringe with my striking new autumnal coat to embrace & make to most of the new season.

MeetMyMenswear

...Occasion...
Arena HOMME+ 20th Anniversary celebration event featuring Stone at Flannels, Spinningfields, Manchester

...Situation...
Dressing for an urban evening event, while showing off my new 'do!

Menswear is technical & practical...but why can't it be fashionable as well? Well Arena HOMME+ magazine combined with the raw fashion wear-ability of Stone Island clothing all in one room was that perfect concoction. In a testosterone filled top floor, fuelled by beer & DJ tunes, a select 50 people were chosen to privately roam the collections to celebrate the magazine's 20th year in publication. Expressing both brands particular eye for detail, we enjoyed admiring Stone Island's Arctic outerwear & HOMMEplus's outlook on life:
ALL KILLER NO FILLER.

MeetMyLFW

...Edeline Lee...
A presentation in the vacant basement of Kings College, in the space underneath Somerset house, was the perfect atmosphere for Edeline Lee's S/S'14 collection. Long silhouettes & strong lines in neutrals with flashes of vibrant hues were viewed from room to room, walking anti-clockwise through crowded corridors overflowing with eerie notes of a nursery rhyme singer...

MeetMyLFWReflections

Approached by New Look to round up London Fashion Week, here are some burning questions about the LFW experience they are asking selected bloggers, so here are my answers to them & of course for you...

  • How do you feel about the impact bloggers have had on London Fashion Week as well as fashion on the whole?
Bloggers represent the whole spectrum of fashion, from high street to high-end designer, shown by individuals who love all sides of fashion for anyone who is interested & who share the same passion. Yes, bloggers have recently taken over LFW, from the streets around Somerset House to as soon as you step inside the shows. But us bloggers are the only ones who can give you a first person point of view of the fashion front line from someone you can relate to, through the individual blogs you choose to follow, making LFW more accessible & a positive experience for all.

  • What interests you most about blogging?
The sheer variety of blogging always provides something new & interesting, whatever you may be searching for. Sharing your creative views about the world with the world is why I blog, it's like keeping an online fashion diary for me to showcase different styles, new discoveries & designers & my inspiration for how I transfer them into my designs.

  • Describe your personal style in 3 words.
     Creative...Inspired...Re-worked

  • What are the favourite key trends for SS14?
White-on-white is still a big trend for next Spring/Summer season, layering light textures & variations on the tone to achieve an interesting effect. With the trend combined with the structural nod to minimalism & flashes of block colours, the white doesn't appear too pretty, which adds an edge for the heat of the season...

...House of Evolution's Fashion Scout show...

...Edeline Lee...

...Tabernacle Twins...

  • What did you enjoy the most about attending LFW?
The fashion scene can be a scary one,  but networking at LFW is surprisingly easy & enjoyable! People watching is the most interesting way to spend the day as everyone is out to impress, being photographed & handing out business cards, creating an excitably fabulous atmosphere. Yes, attending the shows is a big part of LFW for most people, but for bloggers the whole street style incentive is heaven outside on the cobbles...

  • If you could sit on the FROW next to any celeb, who would it be?
The ultimate supermodel Kate Moss, to talk about fashion [obviously], friends in high places & rock'n'roll! Then we'd go onto the most exclusive after-party... Moss style!

  • If you could go backstage for any show, which show would you pick?
It would have to be the Queen of Fashion's show, Vivienne Westwood, as her catwalk looks are always so creatively dramatic that the backstage action would be such a whirlwind.

MeetMyLFW

...Eugene Lin...

Asking the viewers to 'dress in white', the catwalk was an evolution from the purity of white silhouettes to coral pleats & charcoal drapes. Lin's feather print, initially embossed onto every invite, continued to appear in various forms...tone white on skin-tight leggins, flock grey on angular shoulders. The feathered theme continued with across-body fluid drapes that linked the model's naked chests to strutting hips...sheer panels beneath the drape, exposing the connection...
