MeetMyNeighbourhood

Occasion: Day off full of shopping & lunching...
Situation: Dressing for the humidity & possibility of rain!

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Black & yellow Fred Perry polo shirt *special birthday present* [House of Fraser]
  • Bleached & studded denim skirt [H&M]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Black cat-eye sunglasses [Vintage]
  • Black leather backpack
  • Orange & mango juice *keeping the colours complementary [Sainsbury's!]
  • Black suede platform boots [Office]

The discussion of summer is an on-going one with half of our weather obsessed population adamant that the sun has stopped shining & the other half praying for it to return... Well I am the clever kitty cat sitting on the fence in the middle making the most of what we have been given... [with my fingers crossed for the sun's encore!]

Feeling a casual vibe for a day away from work, I wanted my Fred Perry polo to be the focal point of my look. Enjoying the contrasts & complements between Menswear & Womenswear, I wanted to dress up my polo a stage by combining it with a high-waisted denim skirt & platform booties to lift me over the puddles filling the Manchester streets.

MeetMyWorkingDay

Occasion: Work at Hugo Boss in Selfridges
Situation: Dressing smart enough for work, but still in a fashionable way!

Who declared that workwear should be bland & boring? I say let's protest to that premonition & start the day in the best way possible...fashionably!

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Chiffon sleeveless shirt [H&M]
  • Flock patterned crop trousers * latest buy*

Accessorize my Life...
  • Black leather & silver handbag *minimalistic style* [vintage]
  • Pom-pom socks *made by me*
  • Black patent brogues

To keep it smart & slick for work I kept my look monochrome with textured layers to add interest to my daily routine. Playing with proportions, like the shortened trouser leg & shirt tucked into a high waist, adds a playful twist to a more serious environment without looking unprofessional. Add simple but chic accessories & a slick of red lipstick to complete a ready-to-wear working look.

MeetTheTownOfMyHome

Occasion: Home in Hastings for a long weekend
Situation: Dressing for a variety of events

Everyone has a kind of affinity for their hometown...whether it is marmite style in the form of love or hate. Many may disagree, however I can't help but love mine with its majestic sea views & quirky artistic feeling filling the cobbled streets. Welcome to Hastings...

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Black jersey bandeau top *straps folded down from a halterneck to create different looks from one garment*
  • Neon yellow lace & black detailed peplum skirt [Topshop]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Vintage denim jacket
  • Jelly sandals *from a holiday in Greece...perfect for paddling!*

Sean's Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Denim Jacket *the more you wear it, the better it looks* [Topshop]
  • Burgundy t-shirt
  • Black skinny jeans *latest buy* [Levis]

Accessorize My Man's Life...
  • Brown tan brogues *staple Menswear shoe*

For a touristic evening full of arcade entertainment & traditional fish & chips, we mixed & matched our suitcase garments to create easy-going seaside looks. My look may initially appear dressy thanks to my bandeau top & peplum skirt combination, but my 90s revival jelly sandals & vintage denim jacket help tone the overall feel down, perfect for an evening my the seaside. By Sean combining a casual lighter denim on top of his darker smarter look, he complements the colours of the dramatic seaside skies, making for a fashionable end to a fantastic weekend. If only we won at the arcades...

MeetMyCulturalSideOfSummer

...with added Sangria&Sunsets!

Occasion: Day out in the historical city of York
Situation: Dressing for the hottest day of the year, turning into a balmy night of socialising...

Culture comes in many forms & a summery day in the city is a perfect way to shake it up a bit. Sightseeing mixed with shopping down the city's quaint lanes resulted with me finding the purr-fect cat-eye sunglasses I have been long searching for! This culture-clash day in the North could only end in casual drinks as the sun says goodbye for another British day of summer our way...

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Tie-dye t-shirt [vintage]
  • Bleached & studded denim skirt [H&M]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Cat-eye sunglasses *York's bargain buy* [vintage]
  • Antique bronze stop-watch necklace
  • Coral & leather strap sandals

The atmosphere in The Shambles' fashionable Evil Eye Lounge is electric by night...watching the sun set over York's iconic Minster & sipping on local cider created a memorable cool-down for an eventful day...

MeetMyTravels

Festival De Cannes

Take me around the world. To see wonders that my eyes haven't already experienced. Fill my mind with creative cultures to inspire my senses.

Europe is a popular travel location for summer'13, so embrace the locality & explore your doorstep in style. I chose Cannes to start my summer travels & let the laid-back French lifestyle inspire my fashion footsteps.

Intricate shutters adorn the empty faces of every window on the slinky houses of the local.

Beef tomatoes in a spectrum of rouge, naturally sectioned as if teasing the taste-buds.

No t-shirts with crosses on here...
just luxury landscapes to look down upon from the castle on the hill.

Embracing my French inspiration...
with pastel florals & a fresh baguette for the walk to the beach.

Ooh la la pussy cat...sporting a vague moustache to feel the French vibe.

People-watching on the walking streets with a cafe de creme...with added Harley Davidson.

Embracing the eco with bottle-caps becoming an embellishment feature en la mode.

Ladies that lunch...doing it the French way with tarte du pomme & rose vino.

Matching my jellies to the criss-cross pattern of my tie-dye in the delicate restaurant streets of this exclusive promenade resort.

Being blown away by the off-shore activities...taking a boat-trip to the Island of Sainte-Marguerite & Fort Royal, home to the Man in the Iron Mask.

Florals upon pebbles...complementing colours on the beach.

Like Mother, like Daughter...
taking a stroll down the rue de eucalyptus in our fashion flip-flops.

Konky, my travelling Koala making himself comfy for a day trip, with Dazed & Confused to read on the journey!

Konky & I getting ready for our last night in the home of film festivals...mixing pastels with brights for an exciting evening look.

My bargain 2 euro hat & 90s revived jelly-sandals were just too good to resist for a day at the beach!
