MeetMyLondonTown

Occasion: Weekender in London with the brother
Situation: Dressing for a shop-til'-you drop city experience!

^^Camden cool: a well-earned rest in one of Camden's eclectic bars^^

^^V&A Inspiration^^

^^Taking the Westwood route: Accessorising with top British designers^^

^^My [bargain] London find^^

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Coral toned tie-dye top *knotted at hem to create crop-top effect* [Vintage - from Judy's Affordable Vintage Kilo Sale...http://www.judysvintagefair.co.uk/]
  • Black pleated skirt [Vintage - from same as above]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Black cat-eye sunglasses [Vintage]
  • Lilac & coral coloured Vivienne Westwood drop earrings *21st Birthday present*
  • Gold & black tassel necklace *featured when found, ready to style later* [V&A Shop - £5 down from £15...get it while you can!]

My London look is primarily vintage, aiming to create an experimental yet fashionable look, summing-up London's scene. A weekend in London is always one full-to-the-brim of culture, exploring & of course fashion! An explore around Camden led us to find some treasure troves, abundant of retro shirts ready for a festival & cute vests ready for me! I picked out some colours in my tie-dye through my Westwood orb earrings & the flowing tones through my hair. By choosing this particular skirt, the pleats lengthen my look & the black highlights the tie-dye, creating more of a spontaneous pattern rather than 60s through-back rings of hippiness...

MeetMeAfterHours

Occasion: Casual drinks after a working day...
Situation: A quick change out of work-wear into a cool evening outfit

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Mint green draped peplum blouse *used to be my Nanny's*
  • Light wash denim jeans [Levis]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Black Cat-eye sunglasses [vintage]
  • Raffia & black patent clutch bag *chairty shop find* [Originally from Mango]
  • Black suede & perspex heeled strappy sandals *shoe pick of the moment* [M&S]

Sean's Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Light denim shirt [Topman]
  • Black skinny jeans [Levis]

Accessorize My Man's Life...
  • Blue suede trainers *retro inspired* [Office shoes]
  • *lamp-post optional*

It is the best feeling knowing your finishing the working day early for once & not heading home for dinner in the dark. So I wanted to make the most of this rare occasion by slipping into a cool outfit for some after-hours drinks with friends. I kept my outfit to complementary pastel tones, toughening the look from not being too sweet by adding darker accessories, nodding to the impending night-time. The loose peplum & asymmetric drape on the vintage blouse my Nanny originally wore, made for light breezes to cool my temperature after a warm working day. Skinny jeans help streamline the billowing blouse, by complementing proportions, leading ones eye to statement heels made to strut in. With Sean also supporting the light look, he combined the denim shade of his shirt with the pop of blue from his trainers to add interest. Again toughened up with the deep tone of his jeans & swept-back quiff, he looks ready to rock'n'roll the night away...T-Bird style!

MeetMyMenswearEventInspiration

Occasion: London Collections: Men event at Manchester Northern Quarter's 20/22
Situation: Dressing chic for a fashion event, with an ironic twist of androgyny

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • Fringed skull print top *made by me*
  • High-waisted flock cropped trousers *love the geometric pattern detailing* [H&M]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Studded black leather jacket *drape over the shoulder until needed for extra fashion points* [Topshop]
  • Black leather & chrome detailed bag *as featured in last post* [Cow Vintage]
  • Suede black platform boots [Office]

Sean, the Man of MeetYourMaker, picks his selection of the London Collections: Men...

James Long's neon photographic prints & combined textural garments.

Christopher Shannon's monochrome collaged print tees, functional attention to detail & interesting material choices.

Katy Eary's multicoloured digital prints, covering sporty fabrics & luxe tees.

The display of variety that London Collections: Men showcased was truly inspiring. Men are renowned to be the hardest audience to please & this audience was instantly won over. With Harvey Nichols holding this special event, the key focus was on quality & attention to detail, encouraging a hands-on approach through free rum swizzle cocktails, bite-sized ham hock canopes & free-standing rails of garments dripping in desire. With an inviting ping-pong table centring the basement of the Northern Quarter's creative space 20/22, the fashionable males of Manchester gathered to swoon over the preview of the established designer's A/W'13 collections, mentally marking their 'want lists' in their mind. The selection above has even made my list for next pay-day...

MeetMyTwilightTones

Occasion: Open-mic night at our newest discovery @fuelcafebar
Situation: Dressing for the evening breese, heading home at night-time...

My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
  • I <3 Paris sweatshirt *customised by me* [authentically from Paris]
  • Frayed vintage denim skirt [Levis]

Accessorize my Life...
  • Black cat-eye sunglasses [Vintage from @PurpleHaze_york]
  • Structured black leather & chrome detailed handbag [Vintage from @WEARECOW]
  • Black suede strappy sandals with perspex heels *surprise find* [M&S}

It is that time of day, between afternoon & evening, where there is always a conundrum what to wear out for summertime drinks. When you are heading out in the late afternoon the sunshine is fading, however when you are walking [or stumbling...depending on how many cocktails later!] home the sky has turned dark & the chills are out to get you. I find that my legs are the last to get cold, so expose carefully depending on your body's warmth & you will stay fashionable through the night. Clothes hold memories & my I <3 Paris hoody has many of them. However I don't really do hoodies, so I carefully cut off the hood & created this wide neckline to adapt my jumper for more stylish possibilities...wear even on the shoulders with the sleeves rolled up or casually off one shoulder. So my sweatshirt & denim skirt look made a perfect combination to a night full of live music & gin & tonics...
